David John Bier
David John Bier is a Communications and Digital Associate for J&Z Strategies.
Bier's scope of work includes political campaign management for local, state and federal government, ballot measures as well as issue advocacy. He is responsible for helping with media production, assisting with digital advertising, graphic design, branding, strategic communications, and client project management.
Prior to his work at J&Z Strategies, Bier managed communications for Climate Resolve, Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to local solutions to combat global climate change and making California more equitable, just, and sustainable. Prior to relocating to California, he supervised digital strategy, graphic design, and communications for Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski, the first openly LGBTQ mayor of Utah’s capital city. Beyond social media, he authored press materials, speeches, constituent responses, and managed a website redesign of over 10,000 pages of the city’s government website. Bier also secured an all-expenses paid, bipartisan internship in Washington, D.C., working for the Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the United States House of Representatives. He was an integral member of the press team, drafting letters, conducting research, and creating digital media content. Before that, he worked as a campaign specialist with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, building a network of teams and fundraisers to advance blood cancer research.
Bier believes every person or organization – no matter their circumstances or size of business – holds a powerful story that can change the world. Motivated by his passion for personal connection and authentic storytelling, he is dedicated to equity, equality, and empowering others.
A native of Michigan, Bier studied Public Service and Public Policy from Arizona State University. He lives in Hollywood, California.
